At approximately 6:20 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, the Winslow Police Department and emergency medical personnel responded to the 1000 block of West First Street for a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, WPD found a j16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound. He was transported first to Little Colorado Medical Center in Winslow then to Flagstaff Medical Center where he remains in serious condition.
Initial information from the investigation reveals the shooter was a 15-year-old boy handling a firearm when it discharged. Everyone involved has been identified and contacted by WPD and the weapon was recovered.
