Obit Johnson Emma copy

Emma Johnson Emma Johnson, 73, born in Winslow, Aug. 28, 1948, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, 2022, in Cottonwood, with family by her side. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., on Monday, March 7, at Desert View Cemetery in Winslow. The hardest part of this whole process we have experienced is just to write a little something about our beloved mother. One thing is for sure, she was a giving and caring person. If Emma sat you down and had a talk with you, you knew she was giving you a piece of her mind. It was in her nature to be fair, firm, but yet, gentle. It also was in her nature to help you out just as a mother would. Emma was the mother that would feed all our friends, such an amazing cook. We all knew she had a secret stash of sweets just for the grand babies. If you wanted a soda, just ask grandma and BOOM, soda. Anyone who has met her knows that she had an abundance of love to share with the world. She didn’t hate a person, even if someone treated her badly or disrespectfully. When we were ever in the wrong, she made sure we were corrected. Emma was always willing to lend an ear and offer some advice, or just sit with and have a conversation with. If you had doubts about yourself, Emma would give you assurance and support with any decisions. Our mother/grandmother shared so much love, when you would say goodbye, she would accept nothing less than a hug! From her oldest baby (her husband) to her youngest grand-grand babies, we were all her babies. All us kids grew up watching our mother handle any obstacle life threw at her. We are sure she cried at times. But she always remained strong and continued to do an amazing job raising us. We could never be weak. We all learned from the best. She’s the perfect definition of Mama Bear. She loved her husband, her kids, and most of all the grand-babies. She loved spoiling the grand-babies. This was Emma, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. If you have a memory of our mother/grandmother, know this, her love is forever with you. Emma is survived by her spouse, David Lee Johnson; sons, Ivan Lee Johnson and Burtleson Lee Johnson; son-in-law, Levon Lance Romancito; daughters Eileen Lynn Johnson and Yolanda Lynn Johnson; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow handled the arrangements.
