Patricia Brown
Patricia Brown was born in Winslow, Jan. 27, 1948, to Josefina and Lucio Ceballos Sr. and passed away Jan. 28, 2022, age 74, after complications from a stroke.
Patty was a warm and loving person with a big heart who lived her life to the fullest. Patty was a strong Christian, with family and friends the center of her life.
Patty attended St. Joseph Catholic school in Winslow. Later, due to her disabilities, she attended Coolidge Children’s Colony gaining the life skills needed to live independently. She returned to Flagstaff and began her first job at NAU in the food service department. She took pride in her job filling supplies, clearing and wiping tables and keeping the area clean. One highlight was when she spoke at a City of Flagstaff Disability Awareness Commission banquet at NAU. Upon leaving NAU, she was recognized for 15 years of devoted service.
Patty met Silas Brown at her group home in Flagstaff. They were married and spent 30 happy years together. Patty later worked at Goodwill Industries of Northern Arizona where she greeted customers, assisted with the fitting rooms, and sorted and tagged clothing. Patty became the “Poster Child” for Goodwill, whose face could be seen on many of their promotional flyers. In 2020, Patty was to be recognized at Cardinal Stadium for her 30 years of service at Goodwill. Sadly, COVID didn’t allow that to happen.
Patty attended Mountaintop Assembly of God Church for 44 years and was active in the ministry at the Women’s Shelter and Kid’s Club where she enjoyed helping and sharing her love of God. Her compassion, zeal, kindness, openness, fearlessness, heart, and faith made her a true inspiration to everyone.
She is survived by Antonio Ceballos, the last of 13 siblings.
Norvel Owens Mortuary of Flagstaff handled the arrangements.
