The Navajo County Sheriff’s Office reported the following activity in Area 3 during the period of Dec. 26 – Jan. 1. Area 3 includes Heber, Overgaard, Aripine, Chevelon Retreat, Chevelon Acres, Antelope Valley, Clay Springs and Pinedale. Persons who were cited, charged or arrested by deputies are accused of committing criminal activity, but such accusations should raise no inference of guilt. On Tuesday, Dec. 28, Luis Castaneda, 62, of Overgaard was arrested for failure to register as a sex offender following a traffic stop on State Route 260 at Red Deer where it was learned that the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle had an expired driver’s license and was in violation of state law by being a registered sex offender and failing to update his registration status.
