On Wednesday, Dec. 8, Navajo County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 2800 block of Holiday Forrest Drive in Overgaard to affect a warrant arrest for Ryan Michael Brown, 40, of Overgaard. During the arrest, Brown fought with the deputies and attempted to escape. Brown was found hiding and deputies attempted to call him out of hiding multiple times. Brown complied to commands, but while being placed under arrest, he then resisted and attempted to escape from custody. During the struggle, a taser was deployed subduing Brown and allowing deputies to safely arrest him. During a search of Brown, he was found to be in possession of a handgun, marijuana and three ounces of a white substance believed to be methamphetamine. Brown was charged with resisting arrest, possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor, possession of a deadly weapon and possession of dangerous drugs and booked into the Navajo County Jail.
