At approximately 2:32 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, deputies responded to Clear Creek in Winslow for a report of a domestic violence incident. With the assistance of the Winslow Police Department, law enforcement officers located the vehicle with the involved parties. During the investigation, deputies determined Fred Steve Diaz-Lorenzo, 26, of Vernon had assaulted the victim by restricting her airway. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be evaluated for her injuries. Diaz-Lorenzo was arrested for aggravated assault/domestic violence and booked into the Navajo County Jail. Diaz-Lorenzo is being held on a $5,000 secured bond.
