Michael Johnpaul Beeson Michael Johnpaul Beeson, 37, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021, in Flagstaff. Michael was born in Flagstaff on Oct. 5, 1983, to Mike and Carla Beeson. Catholic funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 22 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winslow. Michael attended Winslow schools and graduated from Winslow High School in the class of 2002. He then went on to attend Central Arizona College in Casa Grande. Following his college career, he worked for Winslow School District in the warehouse for a few years and was an assistant baseball coach alongside Coach Art Griffith. He then began his career with BNSF Railway working as a trackman for 13 years. During his time working for BNSF, he was able to work alongside his dad for five of those years. Michael had many hobbies and pastimes, some of which included his love for the game of baseball, playing pool, playing poker and casino games, hunting, fishing, scouting for elk, and he had a great love for different foods. Michael’s baseball career began as an incredibly young boy in the backyard of Grandma B’s house with his cousins. He had many accomplishments in baseball which included being a 4-year letterman, an All Area Player of the Year, selected to play in the Sunbelt two years in a row, selected to play on the 3A Allstar team, and had the opportunity to play in the All-Arizona Allstar game, which was played at Chase Field in Phoenix. He also had a deep love for the game of pool. He learned that skill on a pool table also at Grandma B’s house. He would shoot pool for hours as a little guy, and then as an adult was part of the Northern Arizona Pool League. Going a few times with his team to compete in Las Vegas at the National tournament. Michael always had time for family or friends, and he really enjoyed spending time with both. He had a smile that could brighten a room, a laugh that was infectious, and a heart that loved everyone. Michael is survived by his parents, Mike and Carla Beeson; his sisters, Jeannie Jacobs (John), Carleen Walton (Doug); nephews, Emmett, Travis, Jon, Brady and Oliver; and nieces, Jessie, Melissa, Mercedes, Reanna, Grace and Everlee. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Freeda Beeson, and Carl and Catherine Brown; and his nephew, Hayden Walton. Donations can be made in Michael’s name to the American Diabetes Association or to the National Kidney Foundation. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow handled the arrangements.
