Following the resignation of Winslow Unified School District Superintendent Kathryn Zannin, which was accepted by the governing board on March 8, the district has appointed longtime Connie Gover to be the interim superintendent. In an official statement Gover noted that she has been with the district since 1987 and has served in multiple capacities ranging from teaching in the classroom to administrative leadership. Her most recent position was as the district’s special education director. Regarding Zannin’s resignation, Ty Hancock who handled media relations for Zannin would only state that she had submitted a resignation and not the reasons for her sudden decision to leave the district. Hancock did state that he has taken a job out of state and will no longer be working at WUSD.
