Obit W Cochran Glen

Glen Edward Cochran Glen Edward Cochran was born in rural Checotah, Okla., on Sept. 16, 1936. Born to Cecil Leon Cochran and Pansy Mae Hornsby Cochran. He was the eldest and then a sister, Juanita. Glen is survived by his younger brother, Earl Ray. Glen started school in Wright, Ark., and later attended school in Winslow, graduating with the class of 1956. He was a lifelong member of the Winslow Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Winslow Church of Christ, located at 614 N. Warren Ave. in Winslow. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., at the same location and before the funeral service. Respecting and loving one another, masks will be required. Glen worked for the Santa Fe Railroad before joining the United States Army in 1960. He served from 1960 until 1962. He was assigned to the National Security Agency. After discharge, the government contacted him often in an attempt to recruit him for duty in Washington, D.C. He was always proud of his time in the service. After the service he worked for a short time for Ray Can Motors. On Nov. 13, 1963, Glen married the love of his life, Christine Archuleta. Shortly after their marriage the couple moved to Pinon on the Navajo Reservation where he worked for the Bureau of Indian Affairs and then moved on to the GSA motor pool where he worked until the time of his retirement in 1993. Glen was very talented and skilled in mechanics and welding along with other skills he developed over the years. He loved to spend time fixing things for family, friends, and even strangers. He was a person you called because you could depend on him – his kind and generous nature and “Let’s get it done” attitude made a difference in the many lives he touched. He enjoyed collecting junk and creating treasures from it, sharing his creativity with family and friends. An exceptional father, Glen always loved spending time with his family. He taught and mentored his three girls about honest hard work, loyalty, compassion, commitment, patience, kindness and his love of God. He was so proud of the women his daughters, Leilani Cochran, Belinda Cochran Wells, and Meredith (Edward) Rodriguez became. As he aged, he especially enjoyed time with his much-loved granddaughters, Mehgen, Qeturah, Anisa, Ceimone, Faith and Aleeah, and his great-grandchildren, Huntur, Nikoli, Brexten, Brayden, and Catalaya. Greer’s Mortuary handled the arrangements.
