I grew up in Winslow. I attended WHS where I played football, wrestled (won a state title), and played baseball. I graduated valedictorian in 2000. I served a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Central Mexico. I married my high school sweetheart, Sarah Larsen in 2002, and we have five children. I graduated summa cum laude from University of Arizona in 2007. I taught Spanish and math at WHS from 2007-2009. I attended law school at UofA and graduated summa cum laude in 2013. After stints as a law clerk at the Arizona Supreme Court and as an associate in private civil practice, I moved my family back to Winslow in 2015 where I opened my own firm. I joined the Navajo County Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor in 2017, where I still practice. I currently serve as chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission and on the Little League Board. I volunteer at church and as a football and wrestling coach at the junior high. I care deeply about Winslow. I’ve left and come back more than once and plan to raise my children here. Having spent most of my life here, I understand the unique challenges we face. I refuse to make promises that I realistically can’t keep and I won’t spout off the typical non-specific political mumbo jumbo. Getting things done requires money and Winslow doesn’t have much. Promising that I’ll do x, y, and z isn’t realistic. I do, however, have a few ideas. I want to see shading go up over the bleachers at the softball, multi-purpose and southside fields. I’d attempt to partner with the school district and Little League to get that done. I will work to have shaded seating installed at the skatepark. I want to explore adding a disc-golf course. I will work to install ranked choice voting for local elections. It might not be to my advantage, but I believe that’s the best way to ensure that the voice of the people is heard. Ultimately, what I can guarantee is that I’ll carefully consider each vote. I promise to be available to my constituents—we might not always agree, but I will listen to your concerns with an open mind and will own every position that I take. I ask you for your trust and your vote.
