Ernest Yazzie Ernest Yazzie, 47, passed away on Aug. 17, 2020, in Goodyear. Graveside services will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Desert View Cemetery. He was born on Nov. 29, 1972, to Kee Yazzie and Cora Nez in Winslow. He liked singing and taking part in Native American Church services along with attending church with his siblings and parents. He loved riding and working with horses, watching and cheering for the Arizona Cardinals and Wildcats. He worked as a journeyman carpenter. He was the family comedian. He is survived by his significant other, Ernestine Smith; sons, Darius Jeriah Nez and Lucas Brandon Dickson; daughters, Savannah L. Nez, Montana R. Nez and Trissdyn C. Nez; sisters, Barbara J. Dehnert and Marlene L. Hinsley; brothers, Andrew K. Nez, Robert Y. Nez and Gary Y. Nez; parents, Kee Yazzie Nez and Cora Nez; and two grandchildren. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow handled the arrangements.
