Sidney made friends quickly going to pep rallies and dances. A girlfriend nicknamed her Frenchie and that was the name she went by for 70-plus years.

Frenchie went to work at Winslow Drug and was assigned to the soda fountain. She had many stories to tell about her time as a soda jerk. While working there she met a sailor named Pat DiNino who was stationed in Winslow with the Navy. Pat and Frenchie married Oct. 6, 1945 in Phoenix. They had two children, Michael and Linda. Mike passed away at the age of 10 and Frenchie never got over that loss.

Frenchie loved to sew and she was an amazing seamstress, a skill she learned from her mother. Other enjoyments were painting, ceramics, stained glass, gardening, bowling, and coffee clatch with the girls. She lived at 806 Williamson Ave. for over 70 years. An avid home maker, her home was always spotless.
