The Gemini Gallery in Winslow, owned by Linda Card, is moving. “The Gallery on Kinsley is closed, everything is out,” said Card. “We are moving to 211 E. Second Street.”

The new location will house art, as the previous one did, but has a lot more to offer. “There is four times more space. We can double retail space and studio space. Which also doubles what we can do in studio space. Think pottery, pottery wheels, furniture upholstery and so much more. Our old space was so small. It suited me at first but any time we had more than six people for a paint and sip, we were on top of each other. There is so much opportunity for growth and progress in the new space.”

The Gemini Gallery hosts monthly First Friday events complete with a featured artist and musical act. The move will allow more people to enjoy those events. “We needed a bigger space. In the meantime, before we open in the new spot, First Friday events will be hosted at Snowdrift Art Space.”

Snowdrift Art Space is located at 120 W. Second St., and is owned by Dan and Ann-Mary Lutzick. “They have been so generous in allowing us to hold the next two First Friday events there. It is also their home, so we are very grateful that they have allowed this to happen.”

Gemini Gallery also hosts weekly Paint and Sip sessions at 7 p.m. on Wednesday evenings. The public is invited to take part in painting a guided piece and to bring their own beverages. In the interim, those sessions will be held at 401 W. Third St. “I will also host Paint and Sip on any other night people would like,” said Card. “If Wednesday doesn’t work for you, get a group of friends together and contact me and we can do any night that works.”

A re-grand opening for the new Gemini Gallery is planned for June 1. “That is the Gemini month, and we are so excited to breathe new life in to this. We have some very cool things planned. I am not going to give away any secrets. Just know that we will have new artists, new artisans, more retail and much more space.”

Card also mentioned Gemini Gallery’s participation in Winslow’s Earth Week Celebration. “We will have a recycled art show in the Route 66 Plaza on April 27. We would love for anyone to contribute to that. The only requirement is that the piece of art be made of at least 50 percent recycled materials.”
