Ethel Powell, 89, was born Dec. 30, 1929, in Natchitoches, La, and entered into rest on Jan. 17, 2018, in Winslow.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, at Greer’s Mortuary in Winslow. Funeral services for Ethel will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, at the Winslow Funeral Home, located at 1505 W. Third St., with interment at Desert View Cemetery.

Ethel has been a resident of Winslow since 1958. She enjoyed dancing and telling stories of her past years and childhood.

She is survived by her sons, Scotty Flanagan and Willie Lee Powell Jr.; daughters, Andrea Hamilton of Missouri, Vanessa Powell of Kansas and Jonnie Cabebe of Arizona; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buford and Effie Flanagan; husband, Willie Lee “Pojo” Powell Sr.; twin brother, Edward; brother, Elmo; and sisters, Ora, Geraldine and Selena.
