Whitesinger added, “When we wrapped up our meeting a couple of weeks ago, I kept thinking of the upcoming $1.7 million dollar impact to our budget. We will continue to have those budget meetings, and trying to provide the best service to our community, but we also know that there will be some tough decisions ahead. We work as a community and value each of the people that work at the county and those that live in the county.”

Supervisor Jesse Thompson responded to the presentation by saying, “The education of our young people is very important. This has been my main focus: to get well- maintained school bus routes on the reservation. Because of road wash outs, muddy roads, our children are missing at least 15 days of school per year. This is one way we can maintain some of the dirt roads out there. Like John said this is a really good partnership and we would like to continue this type of working relationship.”
