During the Dec. 6 meeting of the Taylor Town Council, Town Manager Gus Lundberg presented the council with an airport task order saying, “This is for the design work which will be Phase Two to finish off the perimeter fencing, which was started in 2014. At that time the town didn’t have enough from the center of the runway to the edge of our property line to enable us to complete the fencing. Since then we have gotten 2.9 acres from the Rolling Hills Cattle Company, so we own the property where the fence can go now.”

“This project will be to finish the fencing as well as extending the parking lot so people can park up near the terminal building. This task order is to do the design of this work at a cost not to exceed $118,503. The town has airport funds available and the Federal Aviation Administration has agreed that these funds can be used for this project,” concluded Lundberg. Following the presentation, the council voted unanimously to accept the airport task order.
