Patricio “Pat” Leroy Gonzales, 66, entered into rest on Nov. 30, 2018. Holy Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, at Madre de Dios Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Desert View Cemetery. He was born on Oct. 24, 1952, in Chama, N.M. Pat was known by his closest friends and family to help all in need. He served in the United States Army where he received the National Defense Service Medal, his Parachutist Badge and Expert (Rifle M-16). He was an animal lover and rescued many dogs in his lifetime. He loved being in the outdoors and had a great love and respect for nature. His grandchildren and niece will always remember the knick-knacks grandpa Pat would always give them. He loved collecting and thrift shopping. Pat will be dearly missed by those who were blessed to call him friend, dad, brother, grandpa and uncle. Pat is survived by his three daughters, Christina (Virgil) Gonzales-Jaramillo, Roxanne (Adrian) Ortiz and Pablita (Shane) Barber; sister, Maria Perales (Francisco “Pancho”) Salazar; niece, Francisca Salazar; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one great-niece. He is preceded in death by his mom, Ruth Perales; father, Jose Perales; brother, Jose Perales; and granddaughter, Grace Barber. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow handled the arrangements.
