HOLBROOK — Those interested in turning in candidate packets for the upcoming recall election have only two more days to do so to beat the Sept. 7 deadline. To date, only one person, former city councilman Phil Cobb, has submitted the paperwork in order to take part in the city’s recall election set for Nov. 6. The race will be for the positions currently held by Mayor Bobby Tyler and Councilman CJ Wischmann, following the submission of a recall petition to remove them from office. The recall petition cited “unprofessional, unethical and vindictive behavior” on behalf of both Tyler and Wischmann serving in their rolls on the council. Both men refuted the claims made against them resulting in the need for the election. To be eligible to serve, candidates must have resided in Holbrook for two years by the date of the election. The terms for both offices will be until the May 17 election. Packets can be picked up and returned at the Holbrook City Offices, located at 465 N. First Ave. Voter registration deadline for the election is Oct. 8. For more information, contact the city clerk’s office at (928) 524-6225.
