The Winslow Chamber of Commerce held another successful event with the 19th Annual “A Taste of Winslow” on June 8. The event brought in $8,400, which is more than any past event. Approximately 200 people attended and enjoyed great local food, a raffle and an auction conducted by Winslow Chamber of Commerce President Darcey McKee. “This event is not just about the taste of food that you may put in your mouth. It is also about a ‘taste’ of products and services that one can find, use or experience in and around Winslow. Thank you so very much to all the participants and attendees. You make a difference and Winslow, a better place to be,” stated Chamber CEO Bob Hall. There were 24 ticket auction items, 60 live auction items, a silent auction to benefit the Winslow Fireworks Fund and over 100 raffle prizes given out throughout the evening. Participating restaurants this year included Mi Pueblo, Thumbs Up Catering, Chartwells, Twin Arrows Casino & Resort, Kicks Cupcakes & More, PT’s Cocktail Lounge and Little Bloom Cakes. The food they offered was plentiful and very much enjoyed. To help the chamber provide greater service to its members and the community at large, the chamber relies on the generosity and support of the businesses, agencies, service clubs and associations of various Winslow and Arizona entities. Funds generated from the event are used to assist with local, non-tourism related events and to provide various business meetings/workshops throughout the coming year for chamber members. The event is a great opportunity for eateries, businesses and agencies to generate and build new customers/clients. With each year that this event has taken place, the enthusiasm and attendance has grown. This year’s event generated $8,400.00. The best one yet…
