Coconino County has named former Navajo County Manager Jimmy Jayne as their interim county manager following the resignation of Cynthia Seelhammer effective Jan. 9.

Jayne began working at Coconino County as the county’s special initiatives director in August of last year after 14 years serving as manager of Navajo County.

According to The Arizona Daily Sun, the Coconino County Board of Supervisors originally allocated $77,000 per year for the position Jayne was originally hired for. That position was expanded to a lead management job with a salary of $152,699. Jayne’s salary as interim county manager will bring that amount up to $177,200.

It was noted that nothing in Jayne’s contract precludes him from applying for the permanent county manager position.
