The Winslow Arts Council met on Thursday and heard Roberta Cano report that the Empty Bowls dinner and auction was held on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Winslow Junior High School. The event was sponsored by the Winslow Junior High Art Club and the Arts Council and directed by the school’s art teacher Christa Know who is also a member of the Arts Council. Funds raised at the event will benefit the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, which provides food for the needy.
There was discussion about holding another poetry night after seeing the success of the last one. There was also discussion of participating in the Summer Nights in Winslow event and the Day of the Dead event in November. Both items were to be discussed later.
