The Snowflake Lobos’ East Region tournament run was cut short in Holbrook last Tuesday night with an exciting two-point loss.

Holbrook inbounded the ball and drove to the hoop, where Korey McReeves was fouled with 1.6 seconds left. The senior Roadrunner sank both charity tosses, sealing the Lobos’ fate with a 61-59 loss.
Trey Schneider led the Lobos with 14 points. Koy Kelley and Mason Willis added 8 each; Dallin Chapman, 7; Dylan Kay, 6; Garrett Wood, 4; Taden Flake and Zach Solomon, 3 each; and Tanner Willis, Garson Hatch and Dylan Ervien, 2 each.
Snowflake will be in the field of 24 for the 3A State tournament, playing as the 19th seed. Tonight (Feb. 15) they will travel to 14th seeded Tuba City to face a Warriors team they defeated in overtime in an early December meeting. If they get past Tuba City, they will face third seeded Fountain Hills at a neutral site on Saturday, Feb. 18.
The Lobos head to the state tournament with an overall season record of 11-18. Tuba City’s season mark is 20-10.
