Beatrice “Bea” Martinez passed away on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at her home in Winslow. She was surrounded with love by her husband, children, grandchildren and best friend. Her wishes were to be cremated and later placed at her ranch. As per her request, there will be no services held in her honor, but instead a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Bea was born Oct. 26, 1941, in St. Johns to Estephana and Eusebio Chavez. She graduated from Winslow High School, Class of 1960. She spent several years working at the Circle K on Williamson. She later moved across the street and worked at Casey’s Color Center, where she was a manager until her retirement in 2015. She had many hobbies, and enjoyed dancing and going to the casino with her husband. Her biggest passion was spending time with family and tending to her ranch, Terra Bonita. Survivors include her husband, Faustino “Frosty” Martinez; two brothers, Frank and David Chavez; her children, Ronald (Karen), Stephen (Ronda), Annette (Don) and Lisa (Tony); 16 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her best friend, Robert Gondek; and many foster children and grandchildren. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
