The Winslow City Council Oct. 25 in a work session discussed the future of the old police-court complex. Not much new came from the discussion, with most of the suggestions coming from the audience. It was suggested that the area not be turned into a parking lot, and that if it were sold, that it be built or renovated to fit in with the rest of the area.
During the regular council meeting, Ashley Shiwarski made a presentation on the National League of Cities Service Line program, and asked the council to consider participating in the program.
City Manager Stephen Pauken and his designees gave reports on recent city activities, and Finance Director Elias Jouen gave the monthly financial report.
The council approved the consent calendar, including the check register, minutes of the Oct. 11 council meeting, an agreement between the city and the Winslow Dawgs baseball organization, an intergovernmental agreement between the city, the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System and Little Colorado Medical Center, and recommendation of a liquor license application for Clear Creek Brewery, located at 107 W. Second St.
November was proclaimed by the council as Native American Heritage Month.
