Betty Gale Pugh, 81, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016, at her home in Winslow. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 25, at First Baptist Church in Winslow. She was born Aug. 20, 1934, in Winslow. Betty’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest joy. She also enjoyed target shooting, motorcycle riding, and playing softball and volleyball. Survivors include her husband, Thurman D. Pugh; three daughters, Debra Pugh, Linda (Michael) Guerrero and Karen Robinette (Jerry Conner); six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, John T. Young; her mother, Margaret Susan Young; a sister, Marylyn Kent; a brother, Albert; and two half-sisters, Dot and Josephine. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis,Tenn. 38105. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
