Readers of The Tribune-News will notice some changes after this week as the news publication transitions from a twice weekly paper to a once a week paper.

Beginning on April 20, there will only be a Wednesday edition of The Tribune-News, combining the news from the two weekly editions. In addition, publisher Matthew Barger has unveiled a new website for the paper, TheTribuneNewsNow.com, which is available from any computer or smartphone device.

The website has a new layout and additional content, including an expanded calendar of events that includes events from throughout the region. The new site will also be updated each business day, allowing for a current and reliable accounting of the news and activities of the communities of Holbrook, Winslow, Joseph City, Snowflake, Taylor and all the outlying areas that are normally a part of the publication’s coverage.

“We’re very excited about the direction that we’re going. We will be providing more news more frequently, and with greater access for our readers,” stated Barger.

“I’m excited about our new technology, but we want to be sure that our longtime readers understand that we will still be providing a newspaper that will have all the latest news, store inserts and information that they’ve come to expect,” he said.

Although the paper will improve, the price will remain the same. Readers will still be paying one dollar for the week’s news, and local subscribers will still pay the same annual rate of $36 that will now include exclusive access to the latest news posted on TheTribuneNewsNow website.

The website will also feature classified ad posting that can include photos, an extensive listing of local businesses and their contact information, and a better layout for ease in locating the stories you want to read.
