Two suspects are in custody following a robbery that occurred on Friday, Oct. 30, at Wells Fargo in Winslow. The incident was reported just before 11:30 a.m. and witnesses reported a suspicious man running down the alley behind the bank following the robbery. Investigators with the Winslow Police Department released photo surveillance of the suspect to area law enforcement agencies and learned that Flagstaff police had investigated suspicious activity at one of their Wells Fargo branches involving a white Cadillac coupe bearing New Mexico plates earlier that same morning. After receiving the description of the suspect and the vehicle, a trooper with the Arizona Department of Public Safety spotted the vehicle later that day traveling east on Interstate 40 about 40 miles east of Holbrook. The vehicle was pulled over. The driver was identified as Jeri Allen, 42, and the lone passenger as Deon Martinez, 41, both of New Mexico. Martinez was identified as the person who entered Wells Fargo in Winslow, and evidence was reportedly found in the vehicle linking both Allen and Martinez to the robbery. Both were charged with aggravated robbery and booked into the Navajo County Jail, where their bail has been set at $10,000. Neither Allen nor Martinez was armed at the time of the robbery and the amount of money taken from the bank was not known as of press time.
