She was born in Holbrook to the late Prospero Baca Saiz and Manuelita “Nellie” Velasquez Saiz.

Children have always held a special place in her heart and she literally lived her life in the service of her “little” friends. She was the longtime owner and operator of Carousel Day Care & Pre-School in Snowflake. She also had the privilege of working alongside her daughter, Shelly, before she died in January 2012.

Patricia was a faithful and devout member of Our Lady of the Snow Catholic Church in Snowflake. She loved her Savior and enjoyed worshiping Him within the sacred walls of her little church.

Survivors include her husband, Eddie Clyde Hutchins of Snowflake; three children, Michael (Shannon) Hutchins of Taylor, Mark (Janine) Hutchins of Seattle, Wash., and Gina (Trever) Willis of Taylor; a brother, Pete Saiz; two sisters, Phyllis (Larry) Chavez and Yvonne (Tino) Lopez; and her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Michelle.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Patricia’s name to the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 26 Broadway, 14th Floor, New York, N.Y. 10004.

Owens Livingston Mortuary of Snowflake was in charge of the arrangements.
