On Saturday, April 18, 2015, Ronald Eugene Dixson went to be where he worked his whole life to be, with Jesus.
He was born on June 8, 1931, and raised in Orchard, Neb., with two sisters.
Ron graduated from Orchard High School and moved to Norfolk to attend Norfolk Junior College. He then served two years in the Navy.
Returning to Norfolk, Ron met and married Nina Shufelt. Together they raised six children.
He worked many jobs to support his family, which included the state hospital, Fuller Brush, International Harvester and Pepsi Cola.
In 1978, Ron, Nina and two children moved to Arizona, where he remained until illness in 2013 caused him to move to Omaha, Neb., to live with one of his daughters.
Ron loved the Lord with all his heart! He loved his family. He loved to laugh and to make you laugh, and he loved to sing!
Together, Ron and Nina had 6 children, 12 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, two grandchildren and his loving wife.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, at First Assembly of God in Holbrook.
