The Friends of Winslow Public Library annual meeting will be held on Thursday evening, April 23, at the Hubbell Building.

Roger Naylor, a Southwest travel writer and humorist, will be the featured program speaker. He is a regular contributor to The Arizona Republic. His work has also appeared in USA Today, Arizona Highways, Western Art and Architecture, GO Escape, Route 66 Magazine and many other publications. He is senior writer for The Bob and Tom Show, a nationally syndicated radio program.

He will be featuring some of his recent publications, including Boots and Burgers and An Arizona Handbook for Hungry Hikers. The latter title is a love letter to this beautiful state masquerading as a hiking and dining guide. Beyond trail descriptions and restaurant information, Naylor includes local attractions and activities, historical tidbits, fast facts, rambling thoughts, personal anecdotes and big dollops of humor. He is known as the resident Arizonan “best pie” locater.

Refreshments will be served from 6 to 6:30 p.m. on April 23, followed by a brief business meeting from 6:30 to 6:45 p.m. and the program at 6:45 p.m.
