Alice C. Mendoza, a lifelong resident of Winslow, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, surrounded by her family. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Feb. 7 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Winslow. Interment was at Desert View Cemetery in Winslow. She was born June 12, 1926. Alice was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church all of her life. Survivors include Linda Herold (Tom), Diana Baker, Lisa Mendoza (Clifford), Kathy Mendoza, Sr. Yolanda Mendoza, Alette Dominguez (Paul) and Andy Mendoza (Cora); and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cousins. Theresa Duran was more than just a cousin, she was like a sister. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Mendoza Sr.; a son, Billy Mendoza Jr.; and a son-in-law, Larry Baker. Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow was in charge of the arrangements.
