It’s going to be a great Christmas for former Winslow resident Cary Boyle and his family. Cary, who worked for BNSF, received a kidney from an anonymous donor on Dec. 3, and he is doing great. The kidney was a very good match and his anti-rejection medications have already been lowered three times. He still has another surgery to go to remove the swollen poly-cystic kidneys, but that has not yet been scheduled. He now has a chance for a much better and healthier life. His parents, Jim and LaRue Boyle, are his caregivers and note that, “it’s been a privilege and a joy to have him here with us.” Since they haven’t had much time to do their Christmas shopping, the Boyles talked Cary into posing under the tree, complete with bow, for their annual Christmas letter. They say his successful surgery was the best present they could receive. All three offer thanks to friends, family members and kind strangers for their thoughts, prayers and offers of help through this journey.
