The 2014 Taylor/Shumway Heritage Foundation Hostess Dinner will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Taylor Stake Center, located at 309 W. Willow Lane.
The theme for the annual fundraiser will be The Amazing and Amusing in Taylor/Shumway.
Everyone in Taylor, Shumway and the surrounding areas is invited to attend. Dinner will start promptly at 6 p.m., and will be followed by a program about amazing and amusing happenings in Taylor and Shumway. The suggested donation is $25 per couple or $10 for an individual, but in these economic times, a lesser donation will be appreciated as well. The proceeds will be used to finance and maintain the foundation’s sites and activities.
The Navajo County Board of Supervisors reprinted The Centennial Stories and the booklet published for the Snowflake Stake’s 75th anniversary. Both will be available for purchase that night.
For more information regarding the Hostess Dinner, call Carmen Shumway at 536-7294, Katy Udall at 536-2635 or Shirley Cole at 536-7296. Heritage Foundation members especially wish to welcome and include any new people in the area.
The foundation is developing the Shumway School House lot as a center for Home Evenings, youth group activities, family reunions and other such activities. It features a sand volleyball court, a tetherball pole, a horseshoe pit, tables and benches. You may call the Taylor Museum at 536-6649 to make reservations for its use.
