Gwendolyn L. Canfield entered into rest with the Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2014, in Taylor. A graveside service was held May 5 at Reed Hatch Memorial Cemetery in Taylor, followed by burial. She was born Nov. 6, 1926, to Eva and Otto Ishmael in May, Okla., and grew up in South Dakota. Gwendolyn married Robert Canfield in July 1953. She loved animals and flowers. As a housewife, she raised seven children, Leona Savage (Danny Savage), James Canfield (Pam Canfield), Richard Canfield, Kathy Elison (Carl Elison), Limda Oliver (Erine Oliver), Charles Canfield (Virginie Canfield) and Carol Crider (Jack Crider); too many grandkids and great-grandkids to count; and one great-great-grandkid. Survivors include one sister, Coeta Conoyer; and one brother, Lotis Ishmael. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Canfield; her parents; and five brothers and sisters.
